Santa Margherita Ligure, Cinque Terre

Italian Riveria is my definition of a perfect holiday... pretty sights, sunny but not too hot, relaxing and lots of yummy food.

Took the opportunity to visit Italy when we travelled to London in October this year. As it was during the offpeak, we got our air-tickets to Pisa at only EUR60 via Ryan Air (not the best traveling experience but we are not complaining).

We chose to stay at Santa Margherita instead of the villages at Cinque Terre as it is less touristy and its just an hour ride to Cinque Terre. Stayed at almaredallanonna, a 3-bedroom apartment within walking distance to the train station. The rooms are nice and cosy and the owner Stefano is attentive and helpful and recommended a couple of nice restaurants for us to taste authentic Italian food.

Rapallo, Portofino

Rapallo and Portofino are 2 municipalities which are just 10 minutes by bus from Santa Margherita which are worth a visit if time permits.

Cinque Terre - Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare

As we were only in Italy for 4 days, we only visited Vernazza and Monterosso which are said to be the prettiest villages among the 5.
